Books
I am a big fan of Patrick Lencioni, John Maxwell and Jon Gordon. Below are a few of my favorite books and links to their sites for additional resources. These resources are available in your favorite formats.

Ideal Team Player
Lencioni identifies three essential virtues of great team players; humble, hungry, and people-smart and shows how leaders can identify, hire, and develop them. The book uses a leadership fable to illustrate how these traits transform teams and organizations.

The Motive
This book challenges leaders to examine why they lead, contrasting responsibility-centered leadership (serving others) with reward-centered leadership (seeking personal gain). Lencioni argues that the right motive, putting people first, is the foundation for long-term success and trust.

The 5 Levels of Leadership
Maxwell explains how leadership progresses from position-based authority to influence, production, people development, and finally legacy. He provides practical steps to intentionally move up each level, impacting both individuals and organizations.

The Energy Bus
Through a parable of a man whose life and career are falling apart, Gordon introduces 10 rules for fueling positive energy, vision, and perseverance. The story highlights how optimism and teamwork can transform personal and organizational culture.

The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership
This classic outlines timeless leadership principles such as the Law of Influence and the Law of the Lid. Maxwell illustrates each with stories and examples, showing how applying these laws builds stronger, more effective leaders.

The Carpenter
This book tells the story of a struggling businessman mentored by a wise carpenter who teaches that true success comes from serving others and caring deeply about your work. Gordon weaves in practical lessons about building lasting success through humility and purpose.
